My Kubota L1500 - A Beaut Little Tractor

I brought a so called grey tractor for the property in Tara. It's a beaut little 15hp Kubota L1500 and it's ideal for my 32 acre block.
Contrary to reviews I have read about grey tractors, the Kubota is exceptional and has plenty of torque and power. We use it to plough the paddocks, and we have purchased post hole digger for fencing and a slasher and fertiliser spreader. All with 3pt linkage.

The tractor also has an after market f.e.l which is invaluable for moving around large boulders, and knocking over ant hills, which are then used for filling and levelling. I have it on good authority that ant hill clay composition makes a very good tennis court ground.

I have been using the ant hill material as a base on which to erect a 26 x 8 metre Habitat enviromental igloo which we will be using for hydroponics and fish farming.

Recently purchased a stick rake for the Kubota to make the job of clearing the paddocks of sticks and rocks that much easier than hand picking.

Digging up Tara

We haven't quite taken the step of moving from the city out to the Tara property. But we have brought all the equipment to do hydroponics and fish farming.
In the meantime we have brought a tractor and stick rake to tidy up the property. Here is Stephen, our grandson, having a play at digging holes for fencing using the post hole borer on the tractor.

A Little Bit of Tara

The wife and I brought property in Tara, Queensland.

Of course it was lush and green at the time, but it's looking a bit the worse for wear with the prolonged drought.

The dam is now very low, much lower than this photo shows.

The kids now have mud slides instead of swimming.

We did have it stocked with fish but they haven't survived the drought.

I'm Not Too Sure About This

Having read a number of blogs I decided I would like to do a blog on things I know about that may be of interest to others.

I am a carpenter joiner who now specialises in making staircases and balustrade. My son and I also run dowel for balustrade and other useful things.

However, I have been an avid deer and pig hunter, fisherman and reloader for my shooting hobby.

So I will write about these things and others as the mood takes me.
